What were some of the principle concerns for Black women?
2. Terms such as “revolution,” “Black Revolution” (in Cade and Wallace) and Black “intellectual life/work” (in hooks) are terms used in the several works we have read to characterize the work that Black activists of the 1960s-70s (and beyond) have done to combat anti-black racism. What was missing for many Black women (cis-straight, queer) was role gender plays in staging “the revolution.” What were some of the principle concerns for Black women? Were their concerns tenable? How so? Write a paper that critically examines Black women’s articulations of their several roles on behalf of the Black revolution during the 1960s-70s and the significance of their contributions.
